DVR Alert: Phyllis

DVR Alert: the holiday episode of the 1970s series Phyllis airs this Thursday, Feb. 18th at 10am (EST) and again at 5pm on ALN (American Life Network).

Of course, Phyllis is just one of the three successful spin-off series from the iconic The Mary Tyler Moore Show. (There's Rhoda, Phyllis and Lou Grant.) This Phyllis episode entitled "The Christmas Party," isn't yet available on DVD so this is a rare opportunity to see the holiday episode.

  1. Frick! I don't get ALN anymore! I LOVE Phyllis, if only just for her frickin' awesome wardrobe. I met Cloris Leachman (very) briefly this past year at a book signin. She's an idol of mine, she is...

This is a rare show, so I'm glad you posted something. If I have time between classes, do you mind if I post something on my blog? It's doubtful I will because school is looking crazy, but just in case...

  2. I'm a huge Cloris Leachman fan too--she has an incredible role in one of my all-time favorite movies "The Last Picture Show." I could go on and on about that movie but I'd never stop.

I'm not entirely certain what you're asking but...why not?

I'm gonna miss you now that you're going to school--and i just found your group page on facebook. I was hoping that would be an easier way for us to have lengthier discussions about our favorite TV people/moments. Perhaps in our future? I definitely would love to have you write something for my blog in the future too--think about it. I'm dying to know what you are studying. tee hee

  3. Hi Joanna! I'd love to write something for this great blog... I'll need time though! But I'm so up for it!

I am on Facebook every day for the most part, so please feel free to talk TV! I'll stop whatever I'm doing for that!

I'm studying the basics right now (had to go all the way back to the beginning almost with my schooling), but eventually I want to get a BA in English (or Art History) and a Masters in either Library Science or Archival Administration... I'm all about preserving and indexing! I'll be 1,000 when I finally get my degree but it will be there! :)

I read on here you dig Philosophy and I'm dying to take (or rather, retake) some classes on that subject. I've been reading a little Socrates and Epicurus (sp?) and it's wonderful!

I wanted to find this Cloris movie called Someone I Touch, which is about VD. I'm funny that way!
