He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special (1985)

Christmas TV History would like to welcome guest blogger Rob Lehr.  Rob is a board member for Artists of Rubber City : www.artistsofrubbercity.org.  Today he's sharing with us the Christmas animated special that combines characters from the two fantasy TV series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power.  How awesome is that?  Thanks Rob.  Merry SCI-FI Christmas in July everyone!

He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special
by Rob Lehr

Christmas time has never been as much as fun as it is on Eternia!  He-man was always a favorite of mine as a kid; the toys would be dumped out on the floor and my attention would divert between the small TV screen and my scratched action figures.

C'mon say it with me: "By the power of Grayskull....I HAVE the POWER!"
If you experienced this gem as I did when it first aired in the 1980s, you know it is more of the same campy and humorous animation that has become synonymous with the Masters of The Universe series.

Marooned on Earth, Orko meets Miquel and Alicia lost in the woods while chopping down their Christmas tree.
This special includes both He-Man and She-Ra, after Orko visits planet Earth and brings back two Earth Children (and the Christmas Spirit) to Eternia. Of course, not everything can be snowflakes and gumdrops after Horde Prime and Skeletor discover that these earthlings are visiting Eternia.

Perfuma and Bow & Arrow sing "Christmas on Eternia" song with the Earth children.
Snout Spout places the star atop the tree at Eternia's Christmas party.

Will the spirit of Christmas live on in Eternia? You'll have to find out for yourself.  Let me just add that even Skeletor is influenced by the Spirit of Christmas!

Welcome to Skeletor's gun show!

Prince Adam entertains as Santa Claus at Eternia's Christmas party.
